Witham Hockey Club is thrilled to officially announce the landmark appointment of Marcus Bradley-Stevenson as a Player-Coach for the Men’s 1XI ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 season.

This acquisition signals a highly exciting, promising, and ambitious era for the club. Bradley-Stevenson arrives with an impressive pedigree having been playing in the National Conference East League for Chelmsford, whilst also having been with Witham for the past two seasons as the Men’s 1XI/2XI Coach - we are delighted to have him fully join the Witham Hockey Club family. We know he brings his wealth of experience and ability to combine as a dual capability on and off the pitch as a Player and a Coach. This marks a massive step forward for the squad and the Club. The addition of Bradley-Stevenson is a statement of intent that Witham Hockey Club is ready to challenge the very best and elevate its hockey program to new heights.

On his signing, Marcus, commented; "I am very pleased to be joining the lads full-time and excited to get stuck in. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made over the past two seasons and I’m excited to continue pushing the team and the Club forward, there’s a great amount of talent and passion that I’m keen to continue fostering. My sights are firmly set on promotion of the Mens 1XI into Div 1 and I’m confident we have the ability to do so. This is our season and we're going to give it everything we have."

Mens Club Captain, Kris Baker, stated; "I am delighted to have Marcus joining us as a Player-Coach, he has been a fantastic asset as our Coach for the last two seasons having set a strong foundation for progression, development and long-term positive change. We’re now in the next phase where that foundation will be put to the test and I am confident it will lead to major successes and growth, which perfectly aligns with our ambition and target as a Club for the Men’s 1XI to return to East’s Division 1. His signing injects a huge amount of confidence into the squad, and brings a fantastic player with a huge amount of experience further into the Club. I am ecstatic to have him join us to take the first steps into this new phase and help guide the squad to success."
